The Industry

The Dairy and Beef industry directly employs approx: 200 persons on farms.  Back yard farmers are numerous.  They along with the other registered farmers contribute and benefit from raising and selling animals for beef.  

Indirect employment and income generation relates to businesses that supply or manufacture for the sector, for example, Pine Hill Dairy employs approximately 60 persons and earns gross sales of approximately $60 million per year.  Additionally, companies such as Roberts Manufacturing, Agrochemical sales, Eastern Caribbean Fertilisers, various hardware/building suppliers also make up the indirect employment in the sector.
